Your Eyes to the Wonders of La Paz
Known
for the largest concentration of marine life in the world, the Sea of
Cortez is home to over 800 species of marine mammals. Its seamounts and
offshore islands attract many large pelagic species including whale sharks,
marlin, manta rays, and hammerhead sharks!
You
can dive with the hammerheads...
but only if you want to.
The Sea of Cortez
Enjoy
a full day of diving in the Sea Of Cortez with the luxury of a hotel room
each night. Your room at the Los Arcos features air-conditioning, satellite
color TV and an in room refrigerator bar. The hotel is located on the
city's waterfront, close to all downtown dining and shopping areas. Your
diving day will be spent aboard the 50' Rio Rita, a large, stable vessel
with plenty of room for you and your gear to travel comfortably. Dive
excursions reach many of the same great dive spots as the live-aboard
trips, including the sea lions of Los Islotes, El Bajo Seamount, home
to the schooling hammerheads, Isla Cerralvo and the wreck of the Salvatierra.
Non-divers are welcome to enjoy a pleasant cruse and snorkel with the
sea lions. Enjoy the Rio Rita's Happy Hour on the way back to the dock!
The
Sea of Cortez
remains an unrivaled world-class dive destination for those seeking
diverse and exciting opportunities on every dive!
THE
WONDERS OF THE SEA OF CORTEZ AWAIT YOU!
Known
for the largest concentration of marine life in the world, the
seamounts and offshore islands of La Paz attract giant manta rays,
schooling hammerhead sharks, moray eels, whale sharks and over
800 species of fish! And these are only the animals we'll encounter
underwater! Who knows what knew species will be discovered in
the group, what new personalities will feel free and happy enough
to "come out." We've shared some wonderful moments diving
and laughing on these trips with our valued customers for the
past six years. We hope you'll join us so that we can make memories
with you too!
These
are happy joyous trips
that you'll not want to miss out on. They fill quickly each and every
time. La Paz has warm desert breezes, sweet salty aromas and clear warm
water teeming with a variety of life that seems to mix tropical species
with temperate ones.
We've
been surrounded by sperm whales there, watching there flukes rise up around
us as they prepared to go deep. Pods of killer whales have been known
to pass by. Colorful parrotfish parade by green moray eels. This is truly
an amazing place.
We
encourage you to stop by to browse photo albums or to view videos. Ask
to see the one with Lisa (PSC Owner) tickling the belly of a manta with
her bubbles as they glide together in the blue warm waters.
Please,
be happy, join us you deserve it!
Catered
Camping and Diving in the Sea of Cortez, October 11 - 20, 2003!
Mark
your calendars, put in for your time now at work, and start dreaming of
paradise, because this trip is going to fill fast! Where? On Isla de San
Jose, surrounded by the Sea of Cortez, in Baja. Yes, were going
south of the border and to a different world, above and below sea level.
Lets
go there now. Its after nightfall. Youre laughing at the jokes
and stories of other divers as a campfire crackles in the background.
Staring into the warm glow of the embers, you feel mesmerized. Then, you
look up and lose yourself further in the stars above. Reflecting on the
day, certain memories have already been imprinted in your mind and in
your heart - like the mixture of the turquoise, pink and lavender hues
of the morning sky and the sweet aroma of the desert sea air. The robust
taste of that first cup of coffee. The hammerhead shark outlined behind
a swirling school of jacks on your first dive at Las Animas. The sound
of the tiny waves lapping the side of your kayak while the clouds and
sun above painted a picture of light and motion at the end of the day.
The trinkets and treasures you discovered on the beach afterwards sit
on a rock next to the entrance of your tent. And youre vacation
has only just begun!
Yes,
this is a catered camping dive vacation! Well have our own boat
(the Rio Rita), our own campsite (all set up for us with fresh water showers,
tents, liners and sleeping bags, beach chairs), our own chef, our own
kayaks, our own windriders and our own adventures! There will only be
16 of us (not including crew), catered to and taken care of away from
civilization, day and night.
And
I havent yet talked about the first relaxing day at the pool of

Dive into History at Bikini Atoll!
The
USS Saratoga flight deck is only 90ft deep with her bridge accessible at
only 40ft.
This is the world's only diveable aircraft carrier. And at 880 feet long
it is also the largest!
There
are more than a dozen historically significant WW II ships of Bikini's
"nuclear fleet" begging to be explored. The background radiation
is now less than most large cities, and without fishing or pollution to
interfere, the reefs are brimming with marine life.
HIJMS
Nagato was the flagship of Admiral Yamamoto, who launched the attack on
Pearl Harbor from this very ship!
Some
Of What To Expect:
82
- 84° water with 80 - 120ft visibility and no currents.
Maximum
dive group size of 11 w/ average depths of 90 - 150ft.
Price
of $2,750 w/o airfare. Cost will go down to ~ $2000 if we get
10 divers.
