Go
DOWN! Get WET! Come DIVE!
We're
closing the store (just for the day) so we can dive with YOU! AND
we'll be doing it every month!
Lisa,
Dani, Tim, Skippy, Charlie, Joe enjoy visiting with all of you in the
store, so
why aren't we all diving together?
Let's
be dive buddies!
The
"PEACE" departs at 7am for 3 dives at Anacapa Island. Breakfast,
lunch, airfills, snacks and beverages are ALL included for only $65.00.
You'll be back to the dock around 4:30pm.
It's
a one-day, mini-vacation to explore our aquatic backyard! On these adventures,
would you like us to have some new gear for you to try (at no charge
of course!)
For
example, at your request, we can have underwater cameras, Scubapro split
fins, Oceanmaster dry snorkels - just to name a few of the available
options for you. Please let us know in advance, so we can set you up!
Some
months, we'll have "guest" divemasters or plan special underwater
activities. But mostly, it's a day for all of us to go diving and have
FUN together! We can't wait to go diving with you!
Hope
you'll sign up to come diving with us!

Just
wanted to report on our first "GO DOWN. GET WET. COME DIVE ADVENTURE!"
On August 30, that's exactly what we did with our customers on the dive
boat Peace. Hot coffee, an array of breads, cereals and hot oatmeal
(with brown sugar and raisins of course!) Greeted us, along with their
fun loving and helpful crew - Kirk, Herb, Jim, and galley cook Jimmy.
Captain Kevin started the engines, Jimmy played the CD "It's a
moray," and we were off to our first dive location at Anacapa Island
- "The Landing."
ALL I CAN SAY IS I N C R E D I B L E!
Gliding through the kelp beds was like having one of those flying dreams,
only through a magnificent forest! A hornshark hid in the rocks while
sea lions frolicked with each other above. Ferocious garibaldi charged
many divers, in the hopes of protecting their eggs. Spanish shawls waved
their fancy backs at us as brittle stars maneuvered around a giant abalone
(YES, IT'S TRUE!). An angel shark lay still, only partially buried,
under the boat. And these are only a few of the critters we saw! I haven't
even mentioned the lobsters, crabs and other fish we encountered.
And if you haven't had food on the dive boat Peace, I only have words
to try to explain the experience - tender spicy Barbecued pork, seafood
salad with dill, melt-in-your-mouth potato salad, fresh green salad
and sourdough rolls. The self-serve soda fountain washed our palates
nicely. And are you ready to hear about dessert? - Upside down orange
bundt cake with tri-flavored gelaton-like ice cream (coconut, lime,
and guava). (My mouth is watering!)
The end of the day came too soon, but was perfected by the presence
of a pod of dolphins. Some of us jumped out of the fresh water hot tub
to glimpse the playful mammals - and some of us didn't!
A SPECIAL THANK YOU to those of
you who participated in our first "GO DOWN, GET WET, COME DIVE
ADVENTURE." It was wonderful to dive with you and we hope to see
you again.
Visit
our Photo Album and enjoy some of the great times we have had on
our Dive Days.
We look forward to signing you up (or just seeing you would be great
too)!
HASTA!
